These antique and vintage Turkoman (from Central Asia) tassels are ornately beaded and wrapped/tied with silk and cotton. Originally they were used for tribal décor, including women’s hair adornments and were often used to decorate animal trappings as well. Recently they have gained huge popularity in the tribal belly dance community as costume embellishments for a tribal belts, turban and headdresses.
