Large silver tribal hoop earrings from the Northern Pakistan and Afghan border region in the Hindu Kush mountains. They are called Aloch meaning they are a style found in the Swat Valley area...the name probably evolved from "Baloch" people that settled in the area. These earrings are hand made with silver, they are a design that has existed for centuries in this remote valley and are still being made. Some are vintage and some are newer. The ear wire gauges are larger than a regular ear wires and are typically only worn with semi-stretched earlobes. They have recently found great popularity for tribal style belly dance costuming.
