Mid 20th Century Meghwar group Aandheri from Sindh, Pakistan. This embroidered textile was used as a headdress for animals during ceremonial occasions. The embroidery of the Meghwar group is typified by stylised but organic floral renderings as shown on this piece. Soft colours and spacious design lend themselves to a beautiful but subtle piece of textile art.
