Embroidered Rabari fabric strips like this were used to decorate the lower and upper portions of skirts. Each of the motifs in Rabari embroidery has meaning, often indicating community status, personal attributes (married, children, etc.) and devotional offerings. When the complete garments wear out the embroidery is salvaged for reuse or sale. Can be used for many costuming or decorative needs.
