VINTAGE TRIBAL BANJARA SHISHA BELT with COINS- Wonderful old embroidered mirror belts, hand made by tribal Banjara women in Northern India (Rajasthan and Gujarat). The mirror work, called "shisha", is made by glass craftsman who blow hot mirrored glass spheres that are then broken and snipped into small workable pieces before the embroidery is stitched on to each piece to create the embellished textile belt. These mirror bands were originally made to be worn as a type of "veil weight" or headband as part of the traditional costume of the region. You could use them to embellish costume pieces for Tribal Style Bellydance, wear with jeans or for home décor, the possibilities are endless.
NOTE: Some mirrors may be cracked or missing from authentic tribal use, please look over the detail photos for condition.
