This style of metal tribal costume pendant dates to the last half of the 20th century, from the Turkoman areas of northern Afghanistan. These are what the vast majority of Turkoman wore / wear as part of their daily dress. The designs, meanings, and protective purposes are the same as their much coveted "made with real silver" cousins. This is made from base metal and glass or stone beads.
