These vintage Baluchi (from Afghanistan) tassels are ornately beaded with glass and shells and wrapped/tied with metalic thread and cotton, nice - possilbly silver - tassel caps, beaded with cloves for their amulet like quality. Originally they were used for tribal décor, including women’s hair adornments and were often used to decorate animal trappings as well. Recently they have gained huge popularity in the tribal belly dance community as costume embellishments for a tribal belts, turban and headdresses.
