Late 19th century silver Yomut or Ersari Turkoman tumar, or "prayer amulet." Good old Turkoman silver work with red glass beads and ram's horn motif. Turmar of this size were usually strung and worn like a necklace. Just as often as containing written prayer for protection, they contained items of significance to the wearer. This one has been opened and doesn't show signs of what was originally contained.
